Registration Questions
Why do I need to register?
Registration allows you to protect the information you submit to London Life. It also allows you to create CareerAlerts! (up to 30), save job searches (up to 30) and establish a personal job list to track jobs you are interested in and have applied for. You can also store up to 10 different versions of your resumé plus cover letters and modify them at any time.
To help ensure this information is protected, only you should know the username and password you use for this site.
Is my registration information secure?
Yes. Your use of London Life Careers and the londonlife.com site is governed by the Privacy and Confidentiality provisions on this site.
How do I deactivate my account?
You can delete any saved information (resumés, job lists or CareerAlerts!) at any time.
To delete your account entirely, send an e-mail to comments@support.workopolis.com.
Why do my username and password work on Workopolis.com?
The application pages on London Life Careers were created by Workopolis. When you register with London Life Careers, you will also be registered with workopolis.com. The resumés you create and submit to London Life will not be available to workopolis.com, nor to any sites associated with Workopolis or its other clients. Access to information you provide to London Life Careers is restricted to London Life Human Resources.
Job Search Questions
How often are new job postings added?
New postings are added on an ongoing basis. Postings are listed by posted date. The most recent will appear at the top of the list. You can be notified of new postings by creating a CareerAlert!
Online Application Questions
How do I create a resumé?
Once registered, you may create and save up to 10 different resumés. Click the Create New resumé button in the My resumés section to start.
How do I create a bilingual resumé?
Before saving your resumé, click the Français tab above the Contact Information section. This will bring up the French template. Complete the information in French and click the Sauvegarder button.
We offer opportunities for bilingual applicants and encourage you to apply in French.
What is the best format to use for my resumé?
The best format for your resumé is Plain Text. Before you copy and paste your resumé, save it as Plain Text in your word processing document. Rich Text formats do not translate well once you submit your application.
If you wish to maintain certain formats, you may use HTML tags, however your resumé is being evaluated on content, not format. You can preview how your resumé will appear to a London Life Human Resources co-ordinator by logging on to My resumés and clicking the Preview icon to the right of the resumé name.
How do I know my application has been received?
You will receive an e-mail acknowledging that London Life has received your resumé. We will also notify you if London Life Human Resources determines your skills and background match our current hiring needs.
I have submitted my application, but now realize I made an error in the information I provided. What should I do?
You can't re-apply for the position, but you can update the information in any resumé you submitted by clicking the name of the resumé you wish to modify. Once you save the changes, the resumé you submitted will be updated.
How do I update my contact information?
Click My resumés and log on if required. Click on the name of the resumé you wish to edit. Just under the resumé name is a bar with the words: "Contact Information (fields marked with a * are required)." Click on the Edit button and make your changes. Don't forget to click Submit at the bottom of the page to save your changes!
How do I change my password?
To change your password, e-mail address, name, or postal code, click My Personal Info. Make any changes and click Submit.
Process Questions
Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
You are encouraged to apply for any and all positions you are interested in. In addition, you may also save your resumé in the My resumés section and mark it Public. This makes your resumé available to all London Life Human Resources co-ordinators.
What happens to my resumé once I have applied?
If you are applying for a specific position, your resumé will be directed automatically to the London Life Human Resources co-ordinator responsible for filling that position. After evaluating your skills and background, the co-ordinator may contact you for further information or an interview. Your resumé will be maintained in London Life's database and will be available only to London Life Human Resources.
I don't see a posted opportunity that interests me. Can I submit my resumé for future consideration?
Yes. Applications for future consideration are available to all the London Life Human Resources co-ordinators.
What is the difference between Private and Public?
Mark your resumé Private if you want to submit it only to the London Life Human Resources co-ordinator responsible for filling a specific position. Mark it Public if you want to send it to all the London Life Human Resources co-ordinators.
I have received an e-mail message from a London Life Human Resources co-ordinator as a result of an application I recently submitted. What is the best way to respond?
The best way to respond is to reply online to the message you received. This ensures the subject line from the original message is maintained. It also ensures your reply is directed to the London Life Human Resources co-ordinator who sent you the message.
I am unable to apply online. What should I do?
To ensure your application receives the exposure you want, we encourage you to apply online using London Life Careers site.
If you do not have Internet access, you may still apply online in London by visiting our Human Resources office at 255 Dufferin Avenue, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. If this is not convenient, please contact our Human Resources office at (519) 435-7316 or by fax at (519) 435-7330.
